  • Last Days of Summer

There's not much action these days on Xanga. Everyone's last day's of summer must be like mine - BUSY!  We were host's at church on Sunday. We enjoyed having David & Grace before they headed west. I've been doing school sewing - have a couple more dresses to go. Kelsey's dentist appt was today, eye exam is next week. Have some shopping done - more to go. We had a Gideon's picnic last night at Garth Valesky's place. While there, we signed up to hand out Bibles at the fair next Wednesday eve. I found out that the school teacher I cleaned for last year wants me again this year. YEAH! I missed that extra spending money this summer. The lady I cleaned for today paid me extra for cleaning up after Joe last Friday eve when he fixed her ceiling that fell down. It's time to go shopping! or scrapbooking!!!

  • vacation

We have returned from our week and a half of adventure. We were headed to Chattanooga, TN when we saw the sign for Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge - 1 mile. We made a snap decision to stop. That was friday evening. We were in that area until Monday afternoon.. Between being tired of running to things and it raining, by the time we got to Chattanooga, we only took in a couple IMax shows. We had to go to SC via Atlanta, so we spent the night there and went to Bass Pro Shop. While Joe spent an hour+ there, we girls shopped at a HUGE mall. The things we found the most interesting were a 50's era diner and a Lego's store. Very cool! While in Atlanta, we also drove over to Stone Mtn. By that time, the girl's were saying, "Can we go? I just want to get to South Carolina." We had a great time there. Shelle and I (the girls went along 2 days) spent three days hanging out - mostly shopping!  Asingle menn. girl opened a coffee shop in Abbeville and I was there three times in the space of 2 days. It's a good thing I don't do that here. Joe and I were discussing whether a coffee shop would do any good in Cochranton. Any opinions?

I'll share some pics of vacation later.

  • Miller family

My aunt and uncle, Lloyd and Mary Kauffman came out last evening and my family (minus Dennis and Shelle) came over. It was a rather boisterous evening with a lot of talking, laughter, teasing, etc. We sounded like Joe's family when everyone is together. Anyway, Lloyd's were here overnight and we were the fortunate ones to be able to spend a few hours visiting with them this morning. I have some pics, but I had a problem uploading them, so I'll try more later.

We stopped at McConnell's Mill and walked through the mill and one of the trails. IMG_1321

We walked DOWN to the mill which meant we had to walk UP to get to the van. This was taken part way up.Think they might be pooped?

We met Chris and Kristen (and Crosby) at Lake Wilhelm and walked the trail. Did you locals hear that they might close it? We're trying to figure out how they can close something that you can access umteen different places. We sure aren't happy about it. Chris is on Stoneboro's town council and he's talking about going to the powers that be and campaigning on the behalf of the local people. Kristen, you did a good job chooing a son-in-law for us!
